Willie Marsh Simpson

Willie Marsh Simpson, 73, Concord, passed away, Monday, January 9, 2017 at CHS-Northeast. Graveside service will be 2:30, Friday, Jan. 13 at Shiloh Advent Christian Church, 3605 Sikes Mill Rd. Monroe, NC, conducted by Pastor Chuck Overcash. The Simpson family will receive friends prior to the graveside service, from 12:00 to 1:30 pm at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Simpson was born November 24, 1943 in Union County, son of the late John Henry Simpson and Lena Bell Baucom Simpson. He was a retired machine operator. He enjoyed fishing, camping and was an avid NASCAR fan. He was preceded in death by his wife Brenda Kay Thomas Simpson, son and daughter, Danny Ray and Lana Kay Simpson, sister Mary Alice Simpson and grandson Timmy Trull. He is survived by sons, Scott Simpson of Concord, Jimmy Simpson and wife Tracy of Mt. Pleasant; daughter, Kim Catoe and husband Frankie of Lancaster, SC; brothers, Robert, Henry and Billy Ray Simpson all of Union County; sister Pat Barbee also of Union County; grandchildren, Alisha Carter, Devon Simpson, Robby Trull and Matthew D. Simpson; one great grandchild Brenden Timothy Trull; also may brothers and sisters in laws and nieces and nephews.
