Virginia Dare Linker

Virginia Dare Crayton Linker, 71 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Mt. Pleasant House. Funeral service will be 11:00am Friday, Aug. 19, at Gordon Funeral Home Of Mt. Pleasant, officiated by Rev. Clinton Efird; burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery. The Linker family will receive friends Thursday, Aug. 18, from 5-7pm at Gordon Funeral Home Of Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Linker was born May 31, 1945 in Cabarrus County, daughter of the late Richard Amos Crayton and Flora Harvell Crayton. She enjoyed writing poems and songs. She was preceded in death by daughters, Crystal Starr Presley and Tina C. Fuller; brother, Richard A. Crayton, Jr.; sisters Ailene Lambert and Margie Crayton. She is survived by her husband Raymond Junior Linker; sons Johnny Ringo Presley and Timothy Corbett; daughter, Shelia Davis; brother, Charlie Crayton; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Mt. Pleasant House where she had been a residence for the past five years.
