Thomas Edwards Porter, Sr.

Thomas Edwards Porter, Sr., age 100, of Concord, passed away, February 17, 2022 at his residence.

Funeral services will be private.

Mr. Porter was born May 17, 1921 in Mecklenburg County, NC son of James N. Porter and Fannie Mae Hunter Porter. He served his country during WWII in the United States Army as a tank driver with the Hell Cats.  He was married to the late Dorothy Craig Porter who died in October 2009.  Together they lived a simple life and he worked as a family farmer.  Thomas had a sense of humor that he shared with all and a love for family that was unmatched.  Mr. Porter was predeceased by a brother, James Porter, Jr. and a sister, Clara Hunter VanAntwerp.

Mr. Porter is survived by his son, Thomas E. Porter, Jr. and his wife Victoria;  three grandchildren, Derek Porter and wife Amy; Jared Porter and wife Colleen, and Erin Porter Conser and her husband Christopher; nine grandchildren, Emma, Eden, Thomas, Liam, Charley, Kate, Graham, Austen, and Jack.
