Terri Culp Russell

Terri Culp Russell, 74 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away, May 11, 2023, after a brief illness, at Atrium Cabarrus. 

Memorial service will be 4:00pm, Saturday, May 20, at Gordon Funeral Home; the Russell family will receive friends beginning at 2pm prior to the service. 

Terri was born June 29, 1948 in Cabarrus County, daughter of the late George Culp and Evelyn Jackie Burris Culp. Terri was the first Miss Mt. Pleasant. She was also Merry Christmas Queen, Miss NC Motor Speedway and appeared on Kilgo’s Canteen TV Show. She worked for 13 years as an airline flight attendant for Delta Airlines and was able to travel to many destinations. As her girls grew up she coached softball and cheerleading. Later in life, she went back to school and received her associate degree from Stanly Community College. 

She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Russell, daughters, Ramsey Tobey (Josh), Jordan Luz (Conner); brother, Tim Culp (Marie); grandchildren, Noa, Maggie, Elliott and Lachlan whom she adored more than anything.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Cabarrus County Humane Society.
