Sylvia Flowe Coley

Sylvia Flowe Coley, 67 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Tucker Hospice House.

A celebration of life service will begin at 2:00pm Tuesday, April 3 at Matton’s Grove United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Martha McDowell, Rev. Charles Efird and Rev. Chip McAulay. Burial will follow at Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The Coley family will receive friends from 6-8pm Monday April 2, at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.

Sylvia was born February 21, 1951 in Stanly County, daughter of the late Robert Lee Flowe and Nola Hatley Flowe. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist church and attended Matton’s Grove United Methodist Church. She was a retired medical office assistant, working with Mt. Pleasant Family Physicians for 25 years. When not attending and cheering at her grandchildren’s sporting events, she had a love for the Outer Banks of North Carolina, spending time fishing and enjoying the people and the surroundings. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Roy Coley who died May 24, 2011.

She is survived by a son Michael Coley and wife Christina; daughter, Melissa Swinson and husband Aaron, grandchildren, Jacob and Jordan Coley, Elisabeth and Emma Grace Swinson.
