On Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021, at the age of 80, Shirley Cline Misenheimer of Concord NC, passed away from a brief illness. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred Misenheimer, and her daughter Pamela M. Rimer. She is survived by daughter Patti M. Fletcher (Brandon), 3 grandchildren: Courtney R. Harrison (Chris), Tate Rimer, and Hailey Fletcher, as well as one great- grandchild: Clay Harrison.
Shirley was born to the late Cecil W. Cline and Ruth Cline Cline in Concord, NC on January 14, 1941. She is survived by brothers Larry W. Cline (Faye), Gerald J. Cline (Brenda), and Ronald E. Cline (Susan). She attended Cline School, graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1959 and Evans Business School in Concord. Shirley worked at Ketchie Houston and St. John’s Lutheran Church as a secretary. She retired from Cabarrus County Schools in 2003 where she worked in Human Resources.
Shirley loved her community. She was lifelong member of St John’s Lutheran Church where she was actively involved in the Ellen Cox women’s circle, served on church council for many terms and was a supporter of the youth program. She volunteered at the Mt Pleasant Food Ministry and Board of Election polling sites across Cabarrus County. She loved supporting Mount Pleasant athletics and never missed watching a Duke Blue Devils basketball game.
Funeral service will be 11am Wednesday, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Concord, officiated by Catherine Ritch, burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from Tuesday, 6-7:30pm at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
Shirley leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be missed by all who knew her. At her request, memorials may be sent to St John’s Lutheran Church, 100 St. John’s Church Rd, Concord, NC 28025.
