Sharon Sue Bailey Hurlocker 64, of Mt. Pleasant, NC went to live eternal life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 8, 2015. Sharon was born January 10, 1951 in Logan, West Virginia to the late Varres John Bailey and Bessie Helen York Bailey. She grew up in the coal camps of Logan County where her grandfather and father were coal miners. Her father, being from Logan, was related to Anderson Hatfield (Devil Anse) and her mother being from across the river in Kentucky was related to Randal McCoy. This is from whom she got her strong personality. She loved her West Virginia.
Sharon was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant where she was a Sunday School teacher, President of the Methodist Women, previously worked in the church nursery, helped with Bible school and was on the administrative board. Sharon was also a member of the Mt. Pleasant Lions Club. She retired from UNCC where she worked with parking services. She was also a strong supporter of Mt. Pleasant Tiger football. She had previously worked with the Mt. Pleasant Lions Club Youth Football League as a cheerleader coach.
Sharon was preceded in death by her mother and father, Brothers, Jack Bailey and Donis Bailey.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ronald Brown Hurlocker of Fisher Road in Mt. Pleasant, Brother: Fred Bailey (Nancy) of Glouster, VA., Brother-in- Law Max Hurlocker (Mary) of White Bear Lake, MN, Daughters: Erica Bost and boyfriend Johnny Hicks of Lexington, NC and Erin Long and husband Chris of Mt. Pleasant. Also surviving her are her grandsons, who she truly worshiped, Jared Drye, Logan Drye, Carson Hurlocker, Miken Long and Easton Long. Her sister-in-laws Rosemary Bailey and Harriett Bailey and numerous nieces and nephews. Her special cat “Sassy” will truly miss her.
Her visitation and Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday March 12, 2015 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant. With visitation from 1:00pm until 3:00pm followed by the service at 3:00pm. The service will be conducted by the Reverend Bruce Gwyn.

The family wishes to thank all who visited, sent cards and called during Sharon’s time in the hospital and also, and a special thanks to all the nurses and doctors in the emergency room and ICU who worked so hard to keep her comfortable and at peace.
