Sanders "Sonny" Blair

Sanders “Sonny” Blair, 81, of Concord, died December 11, 2023 at Magnolia Creek Assisted Living in Winston-Salem from complications due to dementia.

The Blair family will receive friends from 10am-12noon, Saturday December 16 at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.

Born in New York, he moved to Florida where he graduated from Cocoa Beach High School. After graduation, he served in the Vietnam War, serving a tour with the US Marines and another tour with the US Navy. Following his service, he worked for several race teams while traveling with NASCAR. He retired from Concord Engineering and Surveying. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Alice Blair.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy Ritchie Blair; daughters Alyson Almond (Brian) and Ashley Barnhardt; sons Sean Blair (Jeslyn) and AJ Blair (Heather). Sonny and Nancy were also blessed with seven grandchildren, Gracin, Kaedyn and Easton Almond, Eva Barnhardt, Foy Blair, and Hannah and Addison Blair. Sonny is also survived by his brother Robert Blair.
