Ruth Mills Whisnant

Ruth Mills Whisnant, 86 of Winston Salem, passed away Tuesday Jan. 7, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Ruth was born January 27, 1933, daughter of the late James B. Mills and Rossie Hinson Mills. After retirement from the banking industry she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of South Park Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her son Robert Whisnant. She is survived by a son Scott Whisnant (Debra) and a daughter, Beverly Smith (Scott) both of Lexington, one brother, George “Dick” Mills of Concord and a sister Sue Moore of Winston Salem, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
