Ruth Wilma Hill Moose, 93, transcended from earthly life to everlasting life on April 22, 2016, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC.
Mrs. Moose will lie in state at Bethel Bear Creek Reformed Church, Mt. Pleasant, on Sunday, April 24, from 3:30 until 4:00 pm. A Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving, officiated by Rev. Terri Barringer and Rev. Adam Furr, will begin at 4 pm. The Moose Family will receive friends at the church following the interment. Ruth Hill Moose was born on January 3, 1923, in Cabarrus County to the late Charlie Hill and Lundy Eudy Hill . She was preceded in death by husband Harold Leonard Moose, seven brothers, Charles Hill, Claude Hill, Davis Hill, Floyd Hill, John Hill, Paul Hill, Roy Hill, and four sisters, Dora H. Crowell, Jessie Hartsell, Lucille H. Stegall, and Margaret Hill
Left to cherish wonderful memories are her three sons, Leonard Moose, Benny Moose (Bonnie), Eddie Moose (Janice) of Mt. Pleasant, and daughter, Reba M. Zanfardino (Angelo) of Tampa, Florida. Eight grandchildren: Bonita M. Rowland (David), Amy Moose, Benjie Moose (Susan), Scott Moose (Crystal), Alison M. Hylton (Ray), Cristy F. Bringger (Ryan), Connor Falkenbach (Gabriella), Travis Moose. Thirteen great grandchildren: Abigale Yarbrough, Connor Rowland, Gavin Moose, Claire Rowland, Keegan Moose, Carter Rowland, Kendall Bringger, Raegan Hylton, Jackson Bringger, Clay Hylton, Mason Bringger, Madelyn Falkenbach, Reid Falkenbach.
A faithful member of Bethel Bear Creek Reformed Church, Mrs. Moose was active in the Choir and Women’s Fellowship. She is remembered for her love of music and her beautiful alto voice. Mrs. Moose enjoyed participating in all church activities, and she delighted in making delicious chicken and dumplings, homemade noodles, and desserts for church suppers.
Mrs. Moose worked long hours on the family farm, and she delighted in gardening, preserving vegetables and fruits for the winter. Special pleasures were quilt-making for family and friends, growing beautiful flowers, bird-watching, fishing, cooking, and teaching her granddaughters how to make special candies at Christmas. Her four children loved to awaken on Saturday mornings to the aroma of homemade bread baking in the kitchen. Mrs. Moose loved family gatherings and trips to the beach and mountains.
The Moose Family expresses heartfelt gratitude to extended family and all the friends for their loving support, cards, visits and meals, and sincere appreciation for the dedicated staff at Tucker Hospice House for their compassionate service and care. A special thank you is expressed to Gwen Moore who provided devotion and loving care to Mrs. Moose for five years.
