Ruth Linker Barrier

Ruth Linker Barrier age 90 peacefully passed away from this earth into the arms of Jesus on June 28^th 2023 after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her family.  Ruth was the second child of nine children born to the late Aaron and Carrie Hatley Linker on November 19^th 1932.

Before her retirement she worked at the Mt. Pleasant Hosiery Mill, and later as a lunch lady at Mt. Pleasant Elementary School. Ruth learned to quilt from her mother and made quilts for her    family and friends. Also helped quilt at the Cabarrus County Fair for many years. Ruth had a green thumb and grew bountiful gardens, and many beautiful flowers.

 Ruth was a Charter Member of Mt Carmel Baptist Church, and attended regularly until declining health.  She also was a 30-year member of the Rimer ECA club, with a perfect attendance.

Ruth was preceded in death by her first husband Norman Talley, her second husband Jess Crayton, brothers Kendall and Ray Linker, one sister Frances Kanipe.

Those left to cherish her memories are, her husband Bill Barrier, her daughter Faye McRorie (Phil), four sons Walter Talley (Ann), Gerald Talley, Jeffery Talley (Kim), Jerry Talley (Kim).

One step son Rick Crayton (Joyce), Two brothers Gene and Dennis Linker, three sisters, Polly Teal, Cathy Tucker, and Linda Kay Bittle and husband Junior. Numerous grand and great-grandchildren.

Five step daughters, Stacy Carriker, Debbie Story, Tammy Barrier, Angie Carpenter, and Mandy Barrier.

The family will receive friends on June 29^th 2023 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Gordon Funeral Home in Mt Pleasant.

The funeral service will be on June 30^th 2023 at 3:00pm at Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Allen Lefler officiating.

Pall Bearers are Walter Talley Jr, James Talley, Allen Ray Linker, Will Thompson, David Walters

and Thomas Mullikin.

Burial will be at Mission Baptist Church Cemetery, 12444 Mission Church Road.
