Ruby Cleo Widenhouse

Ruby Cleo Widenhouse 90, of Concord, went to be with her Jesus Saturday January 28, 2023.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday January 31, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. at Gordon Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant.

The ceremony will be held at her life-long church, Friendship United Methodist, located at 4695 Mount Pleasant Road South in Concord N.C. 28025 at 3 p.m., Wednesday Feburary 1.  The reverend, Duane Jarman, of the church will officiate.

Mrs.Widenhouse was born in Cabarrus County on January 12, 1933, to the late Harvey F. Layton and Mary Lola Holland Layton. During her life, she worked in textiles at Cannon Mills. Mrs.Widenhouse loved her lord and savior, her church, and yard sales—but most of all, spending time with her family. Mrs.Widenhouse is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Wilson Widenhouse, her parents, and all of her siblings. She is survived by daughters, Dianne Rispoli (Ed), Sandra Shoe (Kelvin) and Violet Hartsell; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild.
