Robert "Popa" L. Norris, age 59, entered into rest on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Northeast Medical Center in Concord, NC. Robert was born on September 6, 1952 in Oskaloosa, IA. He was an amazing farmer for most of his life in Iowa and moved to North Carolina to fulfill his dream of working in the racing industry. He began by working for 600 Racing in Harrisburg and eventually worked for both Penske and Red Bull Racing in Mooresville. He then worked for Showalter Construction. During his employment there, he was diagnosed with cancer. As his condition worsened, all of the employees helped in any way they could. He was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church where he faithfully attended. He was preceded in death by his father Lee C. Norris He is survived by his mother Elnora Norris of IA; wife Alishia McRorie Norris; children, Chad Norris and Angie (Rick) Silliman of IA; stepchildren, Elizabeth (Keith) Babb, Daniel Martin; sisters, Judi (Bob) Eilertson, LeeAnn (Ron) Failyer; grandchildren, Kylee Silliman, Caitlin Jonathan and Emily Babb, Payne, Stone, Khale and Ethan Martin; nephews, Austin (Jennifer) Norris, Adam (Amber) Norris, Dylan Eilertson; niece, Rachel Eilertson; great-nephew, Landen and Lincoln Norris; great-nieces, Ashten and Audrey Norris. Funeral services will be held in Iowa. Robert had a great respect for missions work so any contributions can be sent to the church in lieu of flowers, Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Hickory Grove Road, Charlotte, NC 28215
