Ray Walker

Ray J. Walker, 80 of Gold Hill Rd., Concord, died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at his residence. Funeral service will be 11:00am Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church officiated by Rev. Dr. Mark Ericson, burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Walker family will receive friends from 10-11am Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church. Mr. Walker was born October 5, 1932 in Cabarrus County son of the late Paul A. Walker and Mary Lillie Cress Walker. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He was a former dairy farmer and sawmill operator. He also was a retired fireman with Cold Water Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by a brother, John A. Walker of Concord, sister, Amelia Walker Ritchie and husband Ralph of Concord, half brothers, Paul Walker and wife Louise of Mt. Pleasant, and Charles Walker and wife Nancy of Concord, half sister, Rose Barrier and husband Luther of Mt. Pleasant, special friend Doris Pruitt and a number of nieces and nephews.
