Ray Lee Boger, 85, of Mt. Pleasant died Wednesday May 5, 2021 at home surrounded by his family after many years of declining health from Parkinson's.
Funeral services will be held 2pm Friday May 7 at First Baptist Church Concord with Dr. Jim Collier and Pastor Arron Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Boger family will greet friends following the committal.
Mr. Boger was born February 17, 1936 in Cabarrus County to the late Adam Lee and Mable Blackwelder Boger. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He was an active member of First Baptist Church Concord and a former Sunday school teacher and deacon. He was also a Gideon and a Mason. During his life he worked as a barber for 56 years and 40 plus years as a truck driver. He enjoyed working and being outside, hunting, fishing, working with tractors or in his garden.
He is survived by his wife Margaret James Boger; sons Jesse Boger and Tony Boger (Kathy); daughters Cindy Cook (Joey) and Patty Whitley (Danny); a brother Bobby Boger (Rita); sister Edith Moose; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
