Ray Barrier

Ray Lynn Barrier, 56 of Concord, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at his residence. Funeral service will be 11:00am Thursday at Westford United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Jeff Rushing, burial will follow at St. Stephens Wesleyan Church Cemetery. The Barrier family will receive friends from 5:30-8:00pm Wednesday, March 26, at Westford United Methodist Church. Mr. Barrier was born July 29, 1957 in Cabarrus County son of the late John Ira Barrier and Mary Lucille Allman Barrier. He was a member of Westford United Methodist Church. He worked for Cummins Atlantic Diesel for 36 years. He was an eagle scout, he was a member of the Cabarrus Beekeeping Association, and he was president of the Iron Peddlers Antique Tractor Club. He loved to BBQ with friends and family, farming and camping; he especially enjoyed his family and granddaughter Harper Rae Conboy. Ray is survived by his wife Janet Myers Barrier, daughter, Jessica Conboy and husband Jason of Fletcher, brother, John Henry Barrier of Concord, sisters, Carrie Sue Moody (Maynard) of Mt. Pleasant, Kathy Lambert (David) of Locust and Nancy Phillips (John) of CA, mother in law , Mildred Myers, brothers in law, Jonathan Myers ( Robin), Wesley Myers (Susan) and Tom Myers (Patti) and a daughter, Ashely Wilson (Chad) of Concord, stepdaughter, Michelle Clardy of Fayetteville, and many nieces and nephews.
