Ralph Thomas Long

Ralph Thomas “Tommy” Long, Jr., 70, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Atrium Health-Northeast.

According to his wishes there will not be any services.

Tommy was born August 31, 1948 in Union County to the late, Ralph T. Long, Sr. and Hilma Newton Long. Tommy was a Vietnam veteran, serving his county in the U.S. Army. After his service in the Army he worked for many years as a truck driver. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sisters Jackie Burnett and Pam Long.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Katie Rankin Long; son Michael Long; daughter Robin Long; step children, Paula Dennis and Johnny Gardner, grandchildren, Patrick Long and Alex Porter, great grandchildren, Grayson and Zane Long; step grandchildren, Casey Covington, Alison Howie and Clinton Gardner; step great grand children Emery and Thorne Covington; and his beloved dog Tucker.
