Olin Eugene Brooks

Rockwell NC Olin Eugene Brooks 85 of Rockwell passed away Friday, February 19th at his home, surrounded by his family. Funeral Service will be 2pm Sunday at Glorieta Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Nathan Brooks and Rev. Robert Leonard. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm at the church prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Olin was born in Cabarrus County on May 27th, 1930 to the late Edward E. Brooks and Bonnie Childers Brooks. He retired from Duke Power with over thirty years of service. Olin was a member of Glorieta Baptist Church. He was also a United States Navy Veteran. During his life he enjoyed gardening, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Mary Austin Brooks, sons Mark Brooks and Michael Brooks(Pam) both of Rockwell, brother Edward Odell Brooks of Lake Norman, sister Dottie Whitesides of Bristol TN, grandchildren Jocelyn Stacy (Phillip), John Brooks(Jill), Nathan Brooks(Katie) and Christa Brooks(Gillaume Loup), great grandchildren Cole, Caleb, Marshall and Landyn.
