Ola Barringer Sells

Ola Letishia Barringer Sells, 93, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022 at TerraBella Assisted Living of Harrisburg.

Funeral services will be held 4pm Monday November 21 at Cold Springs United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Dr. Anthony Bell and Rev. Archie Barringer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the home of her son Jim, 1045 N. Main St., Mt. Pleasant. 

Mrs. Sells was born in Cabarrus County, February 15, 1929 to the late James R. and Maude Faggart Barringer. She was a lifelong member of Cold Springs United Methodist Church. She attended Mt. Pleasant Schools and later in life graduated from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. She retired after 32 years of service from Mt. Pleasant Elementary School Cafeteria. She was married to E.C. Sells, Jr. for 52 years prior to his death in 2010. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her brothers Frank, Leonard, Jim and Earl Barringer; and sisters Geneva Harvell, Ila Watson and Faye Sikes. Also special lifelong friends Alma Hill and Bertha Kluttz.

She is survived by her son James “Jim” Sells and wife Leigh Ann; grandchildren, Rebecca Eddings and husband, Jason, and Jamie Hoopaugh and husband Tyler; and a great-grandchildern, Ethan and Jaxon Eddings and Landon and Tracyn Hoopaugh; she was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, also Gail Porter another lifelong friend.
