Nancy Carolyn Livengood

Nancy "Big Momma" Carolyn McClamrock Livengood, 85, of Concord passed away September 23, 2019 at Presbyterian Hospital’s Harris Hospice House.

Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday, September 27 at Gordon Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Jerry Ingle. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The Livengood family will receive friends Thursday, September 26 from 6-8PM at the funeral home.

Nancy was born in Cabarrus County on January 20, 1934 to the late Samuel McClamrock and Emma Cagle McClamrock. During her life she worked as a seamstress, doing alterations and sewing from her home. She also enjoyed teaching those skills at Rowan Cabarrus Community College, classes included everything from basic sewing to dressmaking. She also worked part time at Belk and Sears. Outside of home and work she enjoyed yard sales and traveling, especially to the mountains. She was a member of Concord church of Christ. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her children David and Eugene Livengood; and a sister June “Dunnie” Tilley.

She is survived by her husband Wilburn Livengood; daughter Sharon Harwood (Danny); special caregiver Dawn Ward; brother Tony McClamrock (Becky); grandchildren Alex Cranford, Virginia Yost (Steven) and Jennifer Livengood; great grandchildren Tristian and Olivia Livengood and Adam Love; nieces and nephews Sandy and Dale, and Kellee and Todd.

Memorials in Nancy’s honor may be made to the Harris Hospice House, 200 Hawthorne Ln. Charlotte NC 28024.
