Myrtle Marie Erving

Myrtle Marie Fink Erving, 89, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Sunday, July 24th, 2016 at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Marie was born January 28th, 1927, to the late Ralph and Rosa Belle Fink. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and worked for Cannon Mills, Plant One in Kannapolis, for 46 years. She was an active, lifelong member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 28th, from 4:00 to 5:30 P.M. at Gordon Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Funeral service will follow at 5:30 P.M. on the 28th at the funeral home officiated by the Rev. Michael Johnson. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church cemetery. Marie was preceded in death by husband Odell Erving, step-son Dennis Erving, brother in law John A. Carriker, brother John Ray Fink and son in laws Kim Justice and Paul Coyle. She is survived by sons Richard and wife Sylvia, Buddy Stancil and wife Janet, daughters Ailene Monroe, Kim Coyle and Karen Harris and husband Greg, step-son Douglas Erving and wife Lucretia, sister Mae Carriker, brother Raymond Fink and wife Joann and sister in law Carol Fink. Surviving grandchildren are Brian Stancil, Dr. Jennifer Jackson and husband Dr. Richard Jackson, Julie Stancil, husband Paul Christy and daughter Annabelle Christy, Daniel Monroe, wife Amber and son Matthew Monroe, Niki Painter and husband Jasea, Dean Justice and Brandi Coyle.
