Mildred Mae Dell, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
A celebration of Mildred’s life will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31, in the sanctuary of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bruce Gwyn officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
Mildred was born in Delware, OH, on April 4, 1927, to Walter Ray James and Ruth Woolsey James. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Robert Stanton Dell, Sr.; a son, Robert Stanton Dell, Jr.; three brothers, Thomas James, John James and Richard James; and a sister, Mary Elinor Kimble.
She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. For more than 35 years, Mildred was a church secretary in Cleveland, OH, and an active member of her church. In her leisure hours, she enjoyed gardening, especially flower gardening, cooking, bird watching and traveling.
She is survived by; a sister, Marjorie Ramey of Vacaville, CA; a brother, Robert James of Anderson, IN, and a niece, JoAnn Hahn of Mt. Pleasant, grandchildren, Christopher and Jason Dell and three great grandchildren.
