Michael Thomas Cooper, 78, of Mount Pleasant died Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Levine Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, January 21 at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 -6:00 pm on Monday, January 20 at Gordon Funeral Home.
Mr. Cooper was born March 10, 1941 in Louisville, KY. He retired from Phillip Morris where he was a machinist. He proudly served his country as a member of The United States Navy 28 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and retired as Master Chief Petty Officer. Mike became involved with the Cabarrus County Fair and volunteered in many ways each year. He also came to love the Carolina coast and spending time at North Myrtle Beach.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Fisher Cooper; son, Andy Cooper and wife Tammy; daughters, Becky Cooper Bass and husband Kevin, Lori Hartsell and husband Roger and Beth Davis and husband Todd; brother, Patrick Cooper and wife Rose. 9 grandchildren, Kristen, Brandon, Caleb, Josh, Rachel, Elizabeth, Kassidy, Bryce, Abigail and nephews, Joe and John; niece, Melissa.
