Michael Vincent Barnhardt

Mt. Pleasant--Michael V. Barnhardt, 80, of Mt. Pleasant died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015. He was born July 7, 1935, to J. Lawrence Barnhardt and Chloe Joyner Barnhardt. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and three brothers. Mike was a graduate of Concord High School and Evans Business College with degrees in business and real estate. He served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. He had a painting service and retired from IBM in Charlotte. He is survived by three sons, Michael Barnhardt and Jeff Barnhardt of Mt. Pleasant, and Mark Barnhardt of Gold Hill; three grandchildren, Vanna Calloway(Blaine), Tricia Barnhardt and Stephen Barnhardt, all of Mt. Pleasant; one great-grandchild, Kennedi Grace; and a sister, Patricia Childers of Springfield, VA. A private graveside service was held on Aug. 8 at St. James Catholic Church Cemetery with the Rev. David Snow presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Community Church of Mt. Pleasant, 11600 Adams Way, Mt. Pleasant, NC, 28124.
