Maura Julius Eberhardt, 69 of Walnut St., Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday December 26, 2012 at the Tucker Hospice House.
Funeral service will be 2:00pm Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, officiated by Rev. Dr. John Boyd and Rev. John Futterer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The Eberhardt family will receive friends from 5-7pm Friday evening at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant, 8559 Cook Street, Mt. Pleasant, NC.
Maura was born January 27, 1943 in Cabarrus County son of the late Maude VonCannon Eberhardt and Julius R. Eberhardt. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and Evans School of Business. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Albermarle and attended Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Mt. Pleasant. He was a travel agent for David Walter Travel and also was self employed as a bookkeeper and worked with income tax services with both Zeba's Bookkeeping and Tax Service and Allison Bookkeeping and Tax Service. He enjoyed traveling and had visited 58 countries throughout the world. He collected antiques and spent many weekends going to antique sells and auctions. Maura currently served on the Mt. Pleasant Town Council and had served his community for many years. He served by listening to the members of the community, helping and supporting the town and the citizens in many ways. All who know him enjoyed his wit and humor.
He is survived by two sisters, Mary Lou Eberhardt Lindsay, of Mt. Pleasant, Tamara Eberhardt of Charlotte, brother, Barry Eberhardt and wife Vasser of Mint Hill, NC
