Mary Ellen Hinson

Mary Ellen Hinson, 72, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Tucker Hospice House.

The celebration of Mary Ellen’s life will begin at 11am Saturday, July 7, at Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity. The Rev. Dan Dahl will officiate, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Gordon Funeral Home.

A Cabarrus County native, Mary Ellen was born May 29, 1946, to the late Archibald and Mabel Brannon White. She was retired from 30 years with the Cabarrus County schools, having served as treasurer at Coltrane Webb and Mt. Pleasant elementary schools, and a teacher assistant at A.T. Allen and Central Cabarrus High School. Mary Ellen enjoyed her talents for cooking and singing, and participating in Lutheran Women service activities.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Roger Hinson of the home; and two sons, Greg and Brad.
