Laura Dawn Hammill

Laura Dawn Haynes Hammill, 55, of Gold Hill passed away Wednesday, January 2.

Funeral services will be Monday, January 7, 11 am at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Gold Hill with the Rev. Randy Powell officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The Hammill family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Sunday at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.

Laura was born June 25, 1963 in Forsyth County, daughter of the late Sandra Bogan Haynes. During her life she enjoyed caring for people as a Registered Nurse, working many years at University Hospital in Charlotte. She also enjoyed various artistic and creative activities, with painting and sewing being her favorites. She will be forever remembered as a wonderful mother and caregiver for her children, and a strong willed person at all times and all situations.

Laura is survived by husband, David Hammill; sons Jacob Bogan Hammill and Ethan Williams Hammill; daughters Chelsea Dawn Hammill and Megan Elizabeth Hammill; sisters Lisa Haynes Ward and Kelly Haynes Hartsell and a granddaughter Ella Kay Hammill.
