Mrs. Laura Shoe Hagler, 81, of Hwy. 73, Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at CMC-Northeast.
Funeral service will be 2:00pm Thursday at Gordon Funeral Home, burial will follow at Mt. Gilead Lutheran Church Cemetery
The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Wednesday evening at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
Mrs. Hagler was born June 25, 1930 in Cabarrus County daughter of the late James and Ruah Smith Shoe. Baptized and lifetime member of Mt. Gilead Lutheran Church, she was educated in the Mt. Pleasant schools. She worked in the hosiery business and other area business as a clerk and waitress. She loved to garden, bake and quilt.
She married Paul Cauble in 1947, he died in 1980. To this union was born a daughter Janice Brady and husband Jerry, a son Jeff Cauble and wife Joan and one still born daughter, two granddaughters, Beth Belk and husband Greg and LeAnne Barnhardt and husband Ron, great grandchildren, Nathan, Natalie and Noah Belk, Dylan and Dustin Barnhardt.
In 1981 she married James Hagler and added to her family step-daughter Teresa Aldridge and husband Gene, step grandsons, Alan and wife Kim and Jason Hinson and wife Sara and two step great-grandchildren Kaci and Trey.
