Larry Eugene Hammill

Larry Eugene Hammill, 83, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Sunday, May 14^th, 2023, at Tucker Hospice House-Kannapolis.

An open receiving of friends will be hosted at Gordon Funeral Home, 8559 Cook St., Mt. Pleasant, NC 28124, on Wednesday May 17^th from 5pm-7pm.

Larry was born July 3^rd, 1939, in Stanly County, son of Helen and Fred Hammill Sr. He attended school in Monroe and graduated from Benton Heights High School. He then moved to Mt. Pleasant, where he spent the rest of his life. He made his career in auto mechanics, working in many shops, and running Hammill’s Auto. He enjoyed traveling to the Outer Banks and spending time at his beloved beach house in Avon, NC. He loved fishing, gardening, and working on tractors. He loved his home, his family, and his friends. Larry will be dearly missed by all those who were fortunate to know him.

He is survived by his daughter Beth Davis and spouse Todd, grandchildren Caleb, Josh, Rachel Wickliff (Ethan), and Elizabeth; son-in-law Roger Hartsell and grandchildren Kristen Sutton (Logan) and Brandon; brother Ronney Hammill and spouse Mary; Aunt Clara Jean Whitley, and many loving cousins. Larry is preceded in death by daughter Lori Hartsell, loving companion Lorene Faggart, and brother Fred Hammill Jr.
