Larry Leon Cline

Larry Leon Cline of Mt. Pleasant, NC, went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Monday, May 25, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm Friday, May 29 at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant, 8559 Cook St., Mt. Pleasant. Reverend Linda Suggs, his niece, will be officiating. Larry was born in Mt. Pleasant on October 10, 1937 to Rufus Grady and Verna Mae Cline. He enlisted in the Navy, and served our country for 20 years on Naval destroyers as a Chief Petty Officer until his retirement. He then worked at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital and IBM. He enjoyed his retirement years working around the home and spending time with his wife, Christine, and shipmate of 57 years. Larry was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Christine Cline, daughter Tamara Blue (Art) of Charlotte, grandchildren and adopted children, Joel Whalley (Marlena) of Concord, Crystal Chukwunta (Chinedu) of Killeen, TX, and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Barbara Busbin, in 1989. Anchors away, Larry!
