Kimmie Ford, Jr.

Kimmie Ford, Jr, 48, of New London, passed away peacefully, Tuesday June 27, 2023 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. He fought hard for two years, with kidney cancer and sadly he lost the battle to liver failure.

Kimmie will be remembered in our hearts as a man that was larger than life. The son of Kimmie Sr. and Carolyn Ford born in Cabarrus County on May 29, 1975. He was a loving brother to one sister; and uncle to her 4 children. Three grandchildren that proudly call him their Peepaw, but most of all a devoted, caring father to his 3 children. This was his proudest and greatest accomplishment (being dad).

He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and immediately went to work with a construction company.  He gained many skills in construction but enjoyed pouring concrete the most. 

Kimmie was everyone's friend and was there whenever he was needed. He was known for his witty sense of humor and cracking jokes with anyone around. He was a diamond in the rough but to know him was to unconditionally love him.
