Kenneth Eugene Hinson

Mr. Kenneth Eugene Hinson, 76 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Carolina's HealthCare Systems - Northeast. Funeral service will be 2:00pm Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016 at, East Bethel Baptist Church, 398 Honeycutt Dr., Concord, officiated by Joey Clark and Rev. Fred Freeman. Burial will follow at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday, Aug. 2, at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Hinson was born June 8, 1940 in Cabarrus County, son of the late John H. Hinson and Hazel Virginia Kluttz Hinson. He was a member of East Bethel Baptist Church. He was retired from Tuscarora Yarns, Mt. Pleasant. He enjoyed playing with his great grandchildren as well as other children he would meet, he always had a box of hot-wheels to share. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy, Eddie, Jerry, and Roger Hinson; sisters, Frances Collins, Jeanette White and Sarah Hall; and a grandson Jonathan Porter. He is survived by his wife Agnes Shoemaker Hinson; daughter Teresa Barnette and husband Mike; granddaughter, Connie Stegall and husband Jeremy; great grandchildren, Logan, Jonathan, Hope and Serenity; sisters, Johnnie Hardy, Myrtle Thompson, and Libby Sullivan.
