Kenneth Burris

Kenneth Wilson (Headman) Burris, 61 of Mt. Pleasant died Saturday at the Tucker Hospice House. Funeral service will be 2:00pm Wednesday at Gordon Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Robert Howard, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. The Burris family will receive friends from 12-2pm Wednesday prior to the funeral service. At other times the family will be at the home of Marlene Love, 403 Dutch Rd., Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Burris was born November 29, 1951 in Cabarrus County, son of the late James B. Burris and Willie Mae Hathcock Burris. He was a long time employee of the Town of Mt. Pleasant. He was preceded in death by sisters, Jacquelyn Evelyn (Jackie) Culp, Anita Smith, Linda Lambert and a brother Billy James Burris. He is survived by a daughter Crystal Chukwanta of Concord, brother Doug Burris of Mt. Pleasant, sisters, Betty Harkey of Albemarle, Cornelia "Connie" McCorkle of Concord, Kathleen Clayton, Marlene Love and Shelia Lambert all of Mt. Pleasant, two grandchildren, Tyvi Cline and Sunti Soutthichak. The Burris family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County and also to Dr. David Turner for their care during Kenneth's declining health.
