Kathy Allmon Simpson

Kathy Allmon Simpson, 63, of Concord passed away Wednesday, March 27, at Atrium Health-NE.

Funeral service will be at 4 pm Sunday, March 31, at Calvary Praise and Worship Center, 1651 Hwy. 24-27, Midland NC 28107, officiated by Rev. Garold Roseman. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.

The Simpson family will receive friends from 4-6 pm Saturday at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.

Kathy was born March 30, 1955 in Cabarrus County, daughter of Gentalee Wilson Allmon and the late Pless Allmon (whom she missed dearly). She was a retired administrative assistant for the Concord City Police Department. Prior to her work with CPD she worked at Pass and Seymour for 20 years. Kathy traveled extensively throughout the United States and to other countries including England, Scotland, Costa Rica and Panama. Her favorite destination of all though was Kiawah Island, SC. She also loved fishing with her husband and camping with her family.

Due to her courage, positive attitude and strength her doctors and nurses referred to Kathy as Wonder Woman.

In addition to her mother Gentalee Allmon, Kathy is survived by her husband Richard (Rick) Marsh Simpson; children Bradley Lance Voncannon, Jessica LaShay Anderson and Blake Marsh Simpson; brother Tim Allmon; her grandchildren that she dearly loved, Lawson and London Voncannon, McKenzie, Kain and Lincoln Anderson, Silas and Sloan Walker; and her dog Kota.
