Kathy Rena Hartsell

Kathy Rena Wentz Hartsell, 66, of Midland went to be with the Lord August 9, 2022 at Atrium-Cabarrus.

Funeral services will be held, 11am Saturday August 13 at Center Grove United Methodist Church, 8055 Hwy. 200, Midland NC 28107; officiated by Rev. Allen Thompson. She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Hartsell family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.

Kathy was born September 27, 1955 in Cabarrus County to the late Joe and Catherine Rodgers Wentz. She was a long time member of Center Grove United Methodist Church. Her working career began with Cabarrus Health Alliance, spanning over 25 years; she retired as financial project manager. She enjoyed making jewelry and beading, genealogy, camping and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother Joe Phillip Wentz, Jr.

She is survived by her husband Carl Allen Hartsell; daughters Melissa Brady (John) and Lindsey Cragan (Clayton); grandchildren Garrett Brady, Brice Burris, Karsyn Brady and Addison Cragan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Kathy’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
