John Henry Shoe

Mr. John Henry Shoe, 86 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 28. at CMC-Northeast. Funeral service will be 2:00pm Saturday at Oak Grove United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Beau Linker, burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Shoe family will receive friends from 1-2pm prior to the funeral service. Mr. Shoe was born January 25, 1929 in Stanly County son of the late George W. Shoe and Madie Cauble Shoe. He was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, where he served on the cemetery committee for many years. He was a US Army Korean War Veteran and a life member of the DAV Chapter 27 and served for the Color Guard for 35 years. He was a retired carpenter for Dennis Cook Construction. He was an outdoorsman enjoyed hunting. He was preceded in death by his wives Edna Dulin Shoe and Viola Herrin Shoe, brother, Harold Shoe and a sister Margaret S. Burris. He is survived by his daughter, Shelia Shoe of Albemarle, brothers, Alton Shoe, George "June Bug" Shoe and Ray Shoe all of Mt. Pleasant, sisters, Dot Parsons of Oakboro, Pauline Eudy, Faye Lambert and Linda Almond all of Mt Pleasant and friend, Mary Herrin of Oakboro.
