Jerry Dale Brady, 74, of Concord, died at his home on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015.
A celebration of Jerry’s life will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, at Cold Springs United Methodist Church, 2550 Cold Springs Road, Concord, with the Rev. Tony Bell and the Rev. Mary Hatley officiating. Interment will follow in the Cold Springs UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, at Gordon Funeral Home, 8559 Cook Street, Mt. Pleasant, NC
A native of Lawrenceville, VA, Jerry was the son of Escar Dale Brady, Jr., and Sarah Mayhew Brady. He served his country as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He was the owner/operator of Kwik Stop at Hwy. 73 and Irish Potato Rd in Concord. He enjoyed sports, especially baseball and football, and was a collector of sports memorabilia.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 36 years, Janice Cauble Brady, of the home; a son, Steve Brady (Melissa) of Port Orchard, WA; a daughter, Sharon Wiles (Eric) of Oak Island, NC; his brother, Ronald Brady (Mary Ellen) of Holly Springs, NC; two step-daughters, Beth W. Belk (Greg) of Kannapolis, and LeAnne W. Barnhardt (Ronald) of Rockwell; seven grandchildren, Alicia Owens (Mitchell), Haley Kossey (Ryan), Caitlyn Brady, Nate, Noah and Natalie Belk, and Dylan and Dustin Barnhardt; his first wife, Joan Crook Everhart; and two Yorkie children, Mickey Mantle(deceased) and Joe Montana.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Jerry’s name to Cold Springs UMC, 2550 Cold Springs Road, Concord, NC, 28025, or to the Humane Society 2010 Wilshire Ct SW, Concord, NC 28025.
