Janis Culp

Mrs. Janis Williamson Culp, 91 of Gold Hill, NC, died Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Horizon Bay Assisted Living, Concord, NC. Funeral service will be 3:00pm Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Anthony Moore and Rev. Karen Moore. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Culp family will receive friends from 2-3pm Sunday afternoon at the Bethlehem Church Fellowship Hall. Mrs. Culp was born September 5, 1921 in Stanly County daughter of the late David Williamson and Elsie Miller Williamson. She attended Mitchell College where she met James, her husband of 66 years. She was a homemaker and dedicated to her family. She was a very active member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church all her life as well as other churches where she lived. She was involved in numerous community and volunteer activities. She was preceded in death by her husband James Albert Culp and by her brothers, David and Robert and her sisters Alma and Nancy. She is survived by her son Alan Culp of Gold Hill, NC and daughters, Martha Helms of Greensboro, NC and Rebecca Martel of Austin, TX, her grandchildren, Andy White, Emily Midea, Summer Shaw, Blair Robinson and Melinda Sander and twelve great grandchildren.
