Jane Allman Beeker

Jane Allman Beeker, 85, of Blowing Rock, NC passed away peacefully Sunday morning, November 27 in Mooresville, NC, surrounded by family. She was the youngest child of the late Carrie Lee Barrier and Silas Stephen Allman of the Mt. Pleasant, NC area. 

Jane was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and attended Pheiffer College where she met her future life long companion and husband, Edwin H. Beeker. From there she moved with Ed to California while he finished his service in the U.S Marine Corps. They returned to NC to start a family and raise their sons. She worked briefly outside their home, but excelled at being a homemaker, gardener and partner to Ed and mother to her sons, Mike and Mark. Jane also enjoyed cooking, entertaining, decorating and improving her home and was always welcoming to the friends of her sons, often acting as another parent to them.

Jane and Ed enjoyed many adventures together and finished their years retired in Blowing Rock. They made many dear friends there and wherever they lived over the years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin H. Beeker, her sister, Abbie Eudy Layton and brother-in-law, John Archie Layton.

Jane is survived by her sons, Micheal and Mark along with Mark's wife Marie Reid, all of Mooresville, and her three adult grandchildren, Genevieve Wiegleb, Jesse Wiegleb and Reid Wiegleb. Also nephew Art Layton and wife, Kathy; niece Elva Seaford and husband Dave Seaford.

Celebration of life and receiving of friends will be held Saturday, December 10 from 10:00am to 11:45am at Gordon Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, NC.
