Jackie Star Wyrick

Jackie Star Safrit Wyrick, 71, of Locust, passed away, Tuesday, March 8, at Atrium Health – Stanly.

The Wyrick family will receive friends from 11am-1pm Saturday at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.

          Jackie was born October 6, 1950 in Cabarrus County daughter of the late Fred Safrit and Dorothy Campbell Safrit. She was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, baking and grilling out. She worked hard most every day of her life; she had three amazing children, Tim Brown (Woody), Angie Love (Jeff) and Beverly Schmidt (Ronnie), who gave her 9 beautiful grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She loved strong coffee and her sassy little dog. The last two years she valiantly fought health battles that none of us would want to endure. Her sisters, Sue Blake and Sherry Lewis and her family rallied around her.

In her last moments, those she loved and that loved her back surrounded her. While they never wanted to experience the end of her life, they are so grateful to have felt the peace that overcame them all and will never forget the way that her breathing changed from labored to easy.

To witness a soul leaving this world for Heaven is a sacred transition that blesses all in its presence.
