Ira Tracy Barbee, 77, of the Georgeville community in Concord, North Carolina passed away comfortably at home on Saturday, April 4th 2020.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions of North Carolina and Cabarrus County, the family will hold a private graveside service at St. Stephen's Wesleyan Church Cemetery.
Born on August 15th, 1942 to the late Ira and Myrtle Barbee. He was a longtime teacher for Cabarrus and Union County Public Schools and an active member of St. Stephen's Wesleyan Church in Concord, North Carolina. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Freeman Barbee, brothers Ken Biggers, Wade Biggers, Fred Biggers and David Barbee, and sisters Margaret Barbee, Polly Walker, Mabel Mills, and Ponza Brannon.
He is survived by his daughter Margaret Page and husband Jeff, son Scott Barbee and his wife Kristen, and son Kelly Barbee and his wife Cherilyn; grandchildren Emily, Ryan, Allison and Carson Barbee, and Brianna Page, along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family appreciates the care that was provided by his private caregivers over the years.
