Herman "Hump" J. Pressley, Sr.

Herman “Hump” Johnson Pressley, Sr., 81, of Mt. Pleasant went to be with the Lord, Friday June 3, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held 3pm, Saturday June 11, 2022 at Miami Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Howard and Rev. Lewis Whittington officiating. The Pressley family will receive friends from 1-3 prior to the service.

Mr. Pressley was born January 22, 1941 in Union County to the late Wristen and Virginia Kiker Pressley. As a young man he worked the family farm, later in life he worked at Tuscarora Mills as a fixer. He liked being outdoors, fishing, hunting, and tending a garden. He was a long time member of Miami Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn McGuire Pressley; a son Herman J. Pressley, Jr. (Vonda); daughter Rachel Hinson (James); granddaughter Rebecca Hinson (Dontae). As well as his devoted caregiver Betty Sue Love.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor may be made to Hospice of Stanly & The Uwharrie, 960 N 1st St, Albemarle, NC 28001.
