Herman Wilson Barringer, 88, of St. Andrews Living Center, formerly of Bethlehem Church Rd, Gold Hill, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013.
Funeral service will be 12:00 Saturday at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, officiated by Rev. Constance Garrett. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The Barringer family will receive friends from 10-11:30am Saturday, at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
Mr. Barringer was born June 30, 1924 in Cabarrus County son of the late Jesse F. Barringer and Ella Hahn Barringer. He was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church where he had served on Church Council and Sunday School Teacher. He also was a life member of the Lutheran Men. He was a WWII US Navy Veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille Chapman Barringer, a brother, Ralph Barringer and a sister Oma B. Foil.
He is survived by a son, Randy Barringer of Rockwell, daughter, Harriet Carpenter, of Gold Hill, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Andrews Living Center for their care during Herman's declining health.
