Geraldine Elizabeth Ross Shoaf

Geraldine Elizabeth Ross Shoaf, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, North Carolina. Born on April 18, 1934, in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Paul Ross and Audie Crayton Ross.

Geraldine was known for her warm heart and creative spirit, enjoying activities such as traveling, sewing, and crafts. She was a dedicated member of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church, where she formed lifelong friendships and contributed to the church community.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her husband of 75 years, Howard Shoaf; their daughter, Starr Cloninger; and son, Roger Shoaf (Bonnie); brother Luther Ross. Geraldine's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Howard Shoaf (Melissa), Maria Murray (Jeff), Stephen Shoaf (Jordan), Emily Slagle (Jacob), Anna Cloninger, and Robert Cloninger. She was also the cherished great-grandmother to Arie, Rhuben, Logan, Bay, Caroline, and Harrison.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her brother Ray and her sisters, Phyllis McLester and Betty Harwood. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

The family would like extend a special thanks to Libby Shoaf and to Jenna and Madelyn from Atrium Health Hospice and Palliative Care and to those at The Tucker Hospice House for caring for Geraldine in her declining health.

A visitation will be held on, Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, both taking place at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant, located at 8559 Cook St, Mount Pleasant, NC 28124, officiated by Rev. Roger Bostic. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.
