Fruta Rowland Hopkins

Fruta Rowland Hopkins, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024, at the Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, North Carolina. Born on May 7, 1963, in Danville, Virginia, Fruta was a dedicated mother, cherished grandmother, and a loving wife who devoted herself to her family throughout her life.

She is survived by her husband of 534 months (44.5 years), Lloyd Hopkins, and their son Chris "Bubba" Hopkins. Fruta's daughters, Angel Hopkins her husband Chester Hewlett, and Tamisha Reece with her husband Chris, were an integral part of her life. As a proud grandmother, Fruta deeply adored her grandchildren: Destanee, Elijah, Faith and Lorelai. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, affecting the lives of her brother, Jerry Henry, and brother-in-law Russ Hall, as well as her nieces, Jenna Hall, Lindsey Kells, and Alyson Billings.

Fruta was known for her vibrant personality and unyielding support for her family. As a family cheerleader, she celebrated every achievement and milestone, instilling a sense of joy and resilience in those around her. Her dedication as a caregiver exemplified her kindness and compassion, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Fruta was preceded in death by her parents, Archie Ray Rowland and Shelby Jean Agee Rowland, and her sister, Crystal Rae Hall, whose memories she carried in her heart.

Her life will be remembered with a visitation on December 27, 2024, at 5:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM, both at Gordon Funeral Home, located at 8559 Cook St, Mount Pleasant, NC 28124. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate the remarkable life of Fruta Rowland Hopkins, sharing in their love and memories of her.
