Franklin Gray

Franklin Calvin Gray, 83 of Concord, passed away, Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at his residence. Funeral service will be 10:00am, Friday at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, officiated by Rev. Ron Hughes; burial will follow in the church cemetery, military grave side rites will be provided by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard. The Gray family will receive friends from 6-8pm Thursday evening at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Gray was born August 7, 1930 in Cabarrus County, son of the late Reckard O'Grady Gray and Bessie Mae Pless Gray. He was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church and a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a retired mechanic and enjoyed riding his scooter, being outside and salt water fishing. He is survived by his wife Geneva Bost Gray, sons, Wade Gray and wife Kristin of Concord, Roy Gray and wife Tamara of Rockwell, Gene Gray and wife Anne of Rockwell and John Gray and wife Linda of Concord, brothers, Earl Gray and Ralph Gray both of Concord, grandchildren, Elizabeth Pack and husband Mark, Nick Gray and wife Katy, Ashleigh Ennis and husband Dylan and great grandchild, Ada Gray.
