Mary Frances Cress, 76, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, at CMC-Northeast following a period of declining health.
Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15, at the St. James Reformed Church Cemetery, 8560 Walnut Street, Mt. Pleasant. The Rev. Gene Frady will preside, and music will be provided by David and Karen Wilson.
The family will receive friends at the Barringer Fellowship Hall of St. James Reformed Church, 8350 Walnut Street, Mt. Pleasant, following the service.
A native of Cabarrus County, Frances was the daughter of Clifford Eudy and Myrtle Estelle Eudy. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Eugene F. Cress.
A 1957 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, Frances was employed by Piedmont Bank and Trust Co., Penn Carol Hosiery Mill and retired from the payroll department of S&D Coffee. A life-long member of St. James Reformed Church and an active member of their Women’s Guild, Frances enjoyed reading, quilting, cooking and baking. More than 20 years ago she was a leader in the formation of the annual Women’s Guild bazaar still held each November. She will be remembered as a caring person and wonderful friend who delighted in helping others.
Survivors include daughter, Helen C. Hudson (Arlan) of Mt. Pleasant; brother, Tom Eudy (Kathy) of Concord; grandson, Joshua Adam Troutman; nephew, Daniel Eudy (Lindsey); and great-niece , Tenly.
