Flossie Mae Hitch

Flossie Mae Hitch, age 89 of Douglasville, GA, passed away on Monday, January 06, 2020. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 10, 2020, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Hightower's Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home with Reverend Mike Lee and Reverend Allan Thames. Interment will follow in Cold Springs Cemetery. She was born on April 19, 1930 in Fitzgerald, GA, daughter of the late Charlie H. Melton and the late Sally Bentley Melton. She was a homemaker and earlier in her career, she worked as a payroll clerk with Exposition Cotton Mills. She was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church. Flossie is survived by her children: Larry Hitch and his wife, Carole, Wayne Hitch and his wife, Debbie; grandchildren: Jonathan Hitch and his wife, Anna, Matthew Hitch and his wife, Eryn, David Hitch; great granddaughter: Charlotte Hitch; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Clyde Hitch; brother: Walter Melton; sister: Corine Walker.
