Florence Tally

Mrs. Florence Elizabeth Walter Tally, 91, of Concord, passed away Friday, August 15 at Brookdale Place of South Concord. Funeral service will be 11:00am Monday, August 18, 2014 at Cold Springs United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Mary Hatley; burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Tally family will receive friends from 4-6pm Sunday afternoon at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Tally was born May 6, 1923 in Cabarrus County daughter of the late A.C. Walter and Daisy Tucker Walter. She was a lifelong member of Cold Springs United Methodist Church. She worked at Kayser-Roth and Willis Hosiery Mills. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Tally, son Leon Talley, brothers, Frank and Otha Walter, sisters, Ruby Krimminger, Breecie Tally, Dora Tally, Bell Dixon and Hazel Owens. She is survived by a daughter, Sue Tally Richert and husband John, granddaughters, Kelly Talley, Heather Neyens, and Myra Talley, step grandchildren, Catharine Richert Jones and Steve Wensil, great grand children, Wynn Bost, Elizabeth Neyens, Ben Bost and Arley Jones, brother, Tony Walter, daughter in law Betty Talley, former daughter in law Hedy Talley. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Clarebridge of Brookdale Place of S. Concord and to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County for their care during Mrs. Tally declining health.
