Flora Rogers Newman

Flora Rogers Newman, 85, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away, Thursday, April 4, 2019 at the Brian Center.

Graveside service will be 1:00pm, Saturday, April 13 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan, GA.

The Newman family will receive friends from 6-8pm Thursday, April 11, at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.

Flora was born May 6, 1933 in Heard County, GA, daughter of the late Walter Harvey Rogers and Eva Gentry Rogers. She graduated from Western High School in Newnan, GA, where she enjoyed being a cheerleader. She moved to Mt. Pleasant 13 years ago from Fayetteville, NC, to be closer to her family. She was preceded in death by a son Roger Newman, sisters and brothers, Myrtle Newborn, Ruth Borders, Ora Hyatt, Mamie Laidacker, Lois Hall, Arnold Rogers and Roy Rogers also her former husband, James Taylor Newman.

She is survived by a son Ronald Newman and wife Angie; grandchildren, Nicholas and wife Tori, Matthew, Katie and Kevin Newman; great grandchild, Lawson Newman; and seven nieces and nephews.
